Governing Health Board Members
Blackfeet Tribal Health is establishing an enhanced governance structure, and a key component of this process is finding five qualified individuals to serve as the governing health board. We are seeking applicants who are motivated, community-minded, and committed to advancing the healthcare of our people. This governing board plays a critical role in providing guidance, oversight, and support for the delivery of quality healthcare services to the Blackfeet Nation.

Position Overview
Health Board Members are responsible for:
● Providing governance and oversight of Blackfeet Tribal Health programs and services
● Supporting strategic planning, policy development, and community health initiatives
● Ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance with applicable regulations
● Representing the interests and health needs of the Blackfeet Nation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
● Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving community health outcomes ● Have the ability to attend regular board meetings and participate actively ● Possess integrity, leadership, and the ability to make objective decisions ● Willing to attend trainings, workshops, and read literature on health board membership
● Have a basic understanding about Healthcare Administration
● Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a health field
● Have an understanding of Public Law 93-638 Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act
● Must be able to pass a federal background check
*Preference will be given to Blackfeet Tribal members
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Master’s Degree or higher in healthcare, finance, administration, or public service ● Experience with governance, policy, or community programs
● Five years experience in the healthcare field and/or as a health professional
TERMS AND EXPECTATIONS
● Board members will serve a designated term of three years
● Attendance at scheduled meetings is required in person or video conference ● Participation in committees and special projects may be requested
